Intel Arrow Lake-S "Core Ultra 200" Desktop CPUs Rumored To Launch In December 1

Intel's Arrow Lake-S "Core Ultra 200" Desktop CPUs are now rumored to launch in December which will be five months after AMD's Ryzen 9000 release.

Intel Arrow Lake-S "Core Ultra 200" Desktop CPU Lineup Launches Five Months After AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" According To Rumor

Intel's Arrow Lake-S "Core Ultra 200" Desktop CPUs might be arriving much later than expected as per the latest rumor from @9550pro (HXL). It is mentioned that this information is just a rumor for now but if true, the launch will mark a five-month difference between AMD's next-gen lineup which hits retail shelves later this month.

In a previous report and from what we were able to gather during Computex 2024, Intel's Arrow Lake-S Desktop CPUs, codenamed Core Ultra 200, were aiming for an October release window but that might change.

We can say for certain that Intel will reveal Arrow Lake-S CPUs during its next "ON" event in September after which, it should take the company a few weeks to get the chips out. However, if this news is true, then that might not be the case. A December release might make the CPUs great for a Holiday/Xmas PC upgrade but if Intel doesn't have much to showcase on desktops, then AMD's Ryzen products will steal away their thunder.

It is currently reported that Intel's Arrow Lake-S QS CPUs are targeting a late September and early October time frame which would mean another month or two worth of wait for the final retail CPUs to start rolling out. The current state of Intel's desktop CPU department is dire at the moment with the company facing severe backlash for the instability issues that affect its 13th & 14th Gen chips.

Leaker, @Jaykihn, seems to stick with the October release date which is what we had also reported previousy:

Several partners and customers have started switching to AMD Ryzen CPUs and the Ryzen 9000 CPUs having no new competition will let them gain even more market share which could be troublesome for Intel, especially after a solid 2-3 years with its Alder Lake and Raptor Lake lines which are doing well on the mainstream desktop segment. We just hope that's not the case and Intel does come out with a strong lineup during its September event so let's wait and see how things go.
