Intel's Arrow Lake-S "Core Ultra 200S" Desktop CPUs are selling at massive discounts in China, almost up to 50%.

Almost 50% Discount Offered On Intel's Arrow Lake-S "Core Ultra 200S" Desktop CPUs Across Various Retailers In China

Intel's Core Ultra 200S "Arrow Lake-S" Desktop CPUs haven't been as popular as their Ryzen competitors, but we have seen some decent discounts from the Blue Team to increase the value proposition they offer. While gaming performance isn't the strongest suit of Arrow Lake-S Desktop CPUs, they do offer great multi-threading capabilities.

In China, these CPUs have received some big discounts when compared to the official MSRPs. Like the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, this is the flagship chip with 24 cores, and was priced at 4799 CNY at launch. At this moment, the chip is priced at 3599 CNY ($506 US), a 25% discount.

The Intel Core Ultra 7 265K had already received a discount at global retailers. In China, the chip launched at 3199 CNY and can currently be purchased at 2049 CNY ($288 US). This is a 36% discount. Moving down the stack, we have the Core Ultra 5 245K, which was launched at 2499 CNY, and can be purchased for just 1459 CNY ($205 US), a staggering 42% discount.

Lastly, we have the entry-level Core Ultra 5 225, which launched at 2149 CNY and can be purchased for just 1159 CNY or $163 US, an even more impressive 46% discount. While the prices are still higher than the cheapest listings in the US, the Chinese listings include VAT, generally around 13-15%.

In the US, the lowest prices are as listed below:

So while the Intel Core Ultra 200S "Arrow Lake-S" Desktop CPUs might not be the fastest or best for gaming, they might become the value king. You will require a new motherboard with an LGA 1851 CPU socket to support the lineup, and that might not be a worthwhile investment as the company has a new socket planned for its next-gen Nova Lake-S Desktop family, which launches in late 2026, but if the prices come down even more in the coming months, then the platform might look enticing to PC builders.
