Arc B770

We might be very close to the launch of the higher-end Arc Battlemage BMG-G31 GPU, and hopefully, it's the long-awaited Arc B770.

Intel Arc B770 GPU Reportedly in the Making: BMG-G31 Spotted in a Recent NBD Shipping Manifest With Early Packaging

Intel's Battlemage lineup might soon be getting a new addition, as an NBD shipping manifest just revealed Intel's new Xe2-based GPU die. If you have been following the reports surrounding the Arc B770, you might be aware that Intel has always responded in affirmation when asked about a more powerful Battlemage dGPU than the Arc B580. The Arc B580 is currently the fastest GPU, but it doesn't go beyond the budget tier when we look at the GPU hierarchy.

Intel has released various variants with the same BMG-G21 GPU die, which is utilized on the Arc B580, including mainstream offerings such as the Arc B570, and the workstation GPUs such as Arc Pro B50 and B60. There have been several rumors and leaks about the more powerful BMG-G31 chip, which is expected to be deployed on the Arc B770, which is going to be the successor to the Arc A770. And it looks like we may finally see the GPU getting released soon.

X user @Haze2K1 just spotted the BMG-"G31" GPU in a NBD shipping manifest from a few months ago. The shipping date shown is 11th June, and the details reveal the GPU die size, which is nearly equivalent to the BMG-G21. While the G21 paper box features dimensions of 381 x 192 x 89 mm, the G31 features 390 x 189 x 83 mm. So, not much difference in the packaging box size, but the BMG-G31 will pack significantly more cores, and it's expected that the Arc B770 will boast 32 Xe2 cores and should bring 16 GB memory coupled with a 256-bit memory bus width. So the actual chip and the graphics card would be a bit larger than BMG-G21.

The BMG-G31 was previously seen in Compute Runtime with four Device IDs. It has been around a month and a half since we saw those getting added to Compute Runtime, and the NBD shipping manifest is dated even before that. So, we may see the Arc B770 in a couple of weeks. Last time, when the Arc B580 was spotted in an NBD shipping manifest, it came out roughly around 2.5 months after the leak. However, this isn't really a strong indicator of the exact release date, but we expect Intel to release it, at least before the end of 2025.
