The best-selling Intel 13th and 14th-gen CPUs are already seeing a price increase since Intel announced a price hike for the Japanese market.
Intel Core i5 14400F Touches 23,780 Yen or US$155, a Big Jump Over its Selling Price in September; More Budget Intel Raptor Lake/Refresh CPUs Witness a Price Hike
Despite Arrow Lake in the market for a while now, the previous-gen Raptor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh series are still the most popular Intel families in the mainstream market due to their excellent entry-level and budget offerings. The Core i5 13400F and Core i5 14400F are among the top-sellers in those families, but even processors like Core i3 14100F and higher-end i7 and i9 SKUs outsell the current-gen Core Ultra 200S CPUs in many regions.
In Japan, the situation for these processors is getting somewhat worse. While these CPUs have already dropped in prices significantly since their launch, the prices are climbing quickly. As reported by Gazlog, Intel has recently announced a price hike of 10% for both 13th and 14th-gen processors, which can already be seen in effect in the country. However, some CPUs were affected significantly with this price hike, increasing the cost by up to 20% in less than a month.
The Intel Core i5 14400F, which is one of the best-selling budget 14th-gen CPUs, was selling for around 19,800 Yen last month, but in October, it has just hit 23,780 Yen, which marks a 20% price hike. Its variant with integrated graphics, i.e., the Core i5 14400, also saw a price hike of 11% compared to the previous month. As for the Core i5 14600KF, the price has risen from 30,000 Yen to 34,000 Yen, marking a price increase of 9%.
Similarly, the Core i3s were also affected, and we are seeing Core i3 14100's price increasing by around 10% this month. However, the i3 14100F didn't seem to be affected much, but it's expected to go as high as the i3 14100 soon.
In the high-end segment, the Core i7 14700K and 14700KF both saw some price increase, but not as much as the budget and mid-range processors. However, the prices for Core i9 14900K and KF models haven't changed much. Still, it's becoming difficult to find these processors at most retailers due to unstable supply, which may cause them to spike in price as well.
