Over the past couple of years, Instagram has evolved from just a photo-sharing platform to a full-fledged social media platform with several features that are shared with Facebook, and a lot of original ones, too. And today, we are hearing that the platform could soon gain a new feature that would allow the users to add polls in the comment sections, making it much easier for people to post questions in the comments. It might sound like a strange addition, but several use cases exist for such a scenario.
Instagram to gain much needed features such as the ability to create polls in comments and reply with GIFs
Twitter user and reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi has discovered that Instagram has been testing a feature that would let users add polls in the comment sections. The feature appears to be in full working condition, but it is not available to the general public.
Paluzzi did share a screenshot showing what the feature would look like, and honestly, some could say that it would only make Instagram more complicated, but I think the app should have such a feature. Facebook and WhatsApp allow users to create polls, so it is only fair that the same feature is extended to Instagram.

Now, another interesting feature that Instagram seems to be working on would let you comment using GIFs. A feature that I am looking forward to more than the polls option because, let's be honest, communicating using GIFs is always more fun than just commenting something generic. Paluzzi has mentioned that the feature that lets you use GIFs in the comments will roll out in the coming weeks, so fingers crossed for that.

Much like WhatsApp, Meta is always testing new features with Instagram as well. Some make it to the beta channel and then the final version, while others are scrapped. We cannot be sure about the fate of these two features but will be more than happy to keep you posted as we learn more about what the developers have planned for the future.
What feature do you think should debut on the photo-sharing platform? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
