Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is out now, and as the game’s title implies, one of the toughest challenges you’ll face during the game’s campaign is… killing the Justice League. The second Squad member you’ll have to take out is Green Lantern, which may actually be the most epic boss fight in the game given all the extra artillery he can summon. Don’t worry though, with our tips you’ll be able to take down space cop without too much trouble…
The Green Lantern fight takes place amid a large industrial zone, with lots of big structures you can climb up on or hide under. Green Lantern is protected by a shield – in order to damage him you have to destroy the various Lantern constructs he uses to attack you with. Every construct you destroy will deplete the green bar below Lantern’s life bar, and when it’s fully depleted, you’ll be able to damage him. Move quick, as his shield doesn’t stay down for long! If you’ve lost track of him, a Green Lantern icon will where show where he is off screen.
While typically you just shoot them, sometimes the constructs can be countered, indicated by the blue lightning symbols around them, which will cause them to be destroyed instantly, sometimes even taking out other constructs around them in a big chain reaction.
While you need to play aggressively in order to destroy enough constructs to deplete Green Lantern’s shields, don’t be afraid to hide under some cover if need be, particularly when Lantern starts raining missiles down on you.
Towards the end of the first phase of this boss fight, Lantern will summon up a giant version of himself surrounded by rocket launchers. The big Lantern is invulnerable – aim at the rocket launchers around him instead in order to deplete his shield.
Once you’ve depleted half of Green Lantern’s life bar his attack pattern will further change. At this point, he’ll start summoning large turrets, but once again, these can be taken down quickly with counters. Finally, near the end of the battle, Lantern will again summon the large version of himself, except now he’s surrounded by even more rockets. Just keep moving, watch out for mines, and deal with him the same way you did before.
One more tip -- since this boss fight requires a lot of shooting and there are no goons to harvest, you may actually run out of ammo. Thankfully, constructs drop ammo and shield when you destroy them (particularly the big turrets). These drops can be easy to overlook, as they often fall down to ground level below all the arena’s platforms. If you’re low and ammo and shield, head down to ground level and you should find plenty just lying around.
And there you go – the second member of the Justice League, dispatched. You’ve already dealt with the Flash, now onto Batman and Superman. No problem, right?
