Thief

Using Swords and Daggers, the Thief is all about sabotaging the enemies with attribute-reducing skills and dealing Dark and Dagger damage multiple times without spending additional BP, all the while often acting first thanks to its superior Speed.

The Thief's very high Speed can also offset the low speed of a paired character, allowing them to act much sooner than their Speed stat would allow by switching them to the front row in place of the Thief.

Apothecary

Using Axes and Tomes, the Apothecary provides a mix of powerful Axe-based skills, restoration spells, and altered status-inducing attacks.

By themselves, these skills make the Apothecary a somewhat average Job to use compared to the others, but Inspiring Break, which restores SP when breaking a foe, can be taken advantage of a lot with the proper Masteries, which can be used to specialize this Job in either Physical Damage or Elemental Damage.

Hunter

Using Bows and Axes, the Hunter comes with skills focused on dealing Bow damage multiple times in a single turn, and manipulating the turn order with Ensnare, which causes a single enemy to act last.

Cleric

Using Fans and Staves, the Cleric is a great support-focused Job that can heal HP and SP and deal Light damage.

Although the Cleric's Battle Skills are not really exciting by themselves, Celestial Veil works great in conjunction with any Traveler who can aggro enemies to take damage for the rest of the party. The SP restoration effect it grants allows the receiving character to use their most powerful skills without having to worry about limited resources.

Scholar

Using Staves and Tomes, the Scholar is your classic "Black Mage" Job focusing on Fire, Wind and Light Elemental Damage. With the proper Masteries, you can expand the range of elemental attacks to cover the elements not available natively to create the ultimate elemental mage.

The Scholar's Battle Skill Analyze and Support Skill Study Foe are great skills for both random encounters and bosses, making this Job one of the best all-around useful Jobs in the game.

Dancer

Using Fans and Daggers, the Dancer is another support-focused Job that works best in a party full of damage-dealing travelers.

All status-enhancing skills the Dancer can use are greatly augmented by the Support Skill The Show Goes On, which extends duration of these buffs by 1 turn.
