Easily unlock Pixel 7a bootloader and customize your phone in whichever way you want
The best thing about the unlocking process is that Google has become a lot more friendly towards third-party developers. This means that you do not have to go through a long, arduous process to go ahead and unlock the bootloader on Pixel 7a, and we are going to guide you on how to do that.
Note: Unlocking the bootloader of any device will completely wipe the device, so it is better that you make a backup before you unlock the bootloader.
Step 1: On your Pixel 7a, go to Settings > About Phone and tap the Build number for 7 to 8 times.
Step 2: Go back to the main Settings page and tap System.
Step 3: Now, scroll down to Developer options.
Step 4: Once you are there, look for OEM unlocking toggle and turn that on. You might be asked to enter a password or PIN.
Step 5: If you don't have ADB and Fastboot setup, I'd suggest you get these ready by going over here.
Step 6: Now, turn off your Pixel 7a and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons together. This will turn on your phone and boot it into the bootloader menu.
Step 7: Plug your Pixel 7a into your computer using a USB cable.
Step 8: Type in the following command fastboot flashing unlock. This will show you on the screen that the bootloader unlocking process is going to initiate. Navigate using the volume buttons and use the power button to accept it.
Once the process is complete, your phone will reset, and you will have to go ahead and setup the phone all over again, but that is about it.
