Find our Wi-Fi router IP address on iPhone, iPad, Mac.

Finding your router IP address using your iPhone, iPad, or Mac is super easy. All it takes is a few clicks or taps, and you'll be good to go.

Need to change your Wi-Fi router's settings? Grab hold of the router IP address first using your iPhone, iPad, or Mac

There are many reasons why you'd want to know your Wi-Fi router's IP address. For instance, you want to change a setting or two related to how your router works, and to get to that settings page, you need the router IP address.

One way to get the router address is by simply looking underneath the router, and the default address will be written right next to the MAC address and serial number. Not really convenient as someone might have changed the default address to something else, and it gets even worse if your router is sitting in a place that is not easy to reach.

So, what are your options now? Well, you can simply use your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to find out your router's IP address instead. Assuming you're already connected to your Wi-Fi network, here's what you need to do on your Mac:

In fact, you'll find a bunch of useful information here, including what band you're connected to, the wireless speed, channel, noise, and more. You won't find this much information natively on an iPhone or iPad.

Alright! So you now know how to find out your router's IP address using your Mac, here's how you can do the same on your iPhone or iPad.

Once you have the router address, simply enter that in your web browser's URL bar and hit enter. You'll be taken to the router settings page. Enter your username and password, and you can start changing settings and make amendments to your liking.

Now you know how to grab hold of the router's IP address and how to use it as well.

Remember, it might not be useful to know such a thing when it comes to certain Wi-Fi routers and mesh systems. For example, going to the router address (if you have Nest or Google Wifi) will simply suggest you to download the app on your phone or tablet. It's a good level of security in place, as someone can't jump right in and change something on the network. On the other hand, if you forgot your Google account username and password, then you are basically locked out of your own network when it comes to changing settings.

Last but not least, if you do have a Wi-Fi router whose settings can be changed using a web browser, make sure you use an extremely tough-to-guess password instead of the default 'admin' one. Secondly, it is highly recommended that you change the default router address to something else. At least change it from the one that is written under the router.
