Like every other modern video game, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced offers a wealth of settings to adjust, allowing you to tailor the experience to your liking. No matter your preferences, however, there are a few settings you should consider changing as soon as possible to have a much better time accompanying Edward Kenway on his journey in the Carribean.

Area Loot

Area Loot is a very useful option to have turned on at all times. This allows you to collect all nearby loot with a single button press, instead of collecting each item individually. As there is literally no reason not to pick up any loot, turning this on makes collecting vital resources to upgrade Edward or ther Jackdawn ship much more convenient.

To turn Area Loot on, you must:

Advanced Parkour

Advanced Parkour is another useful option that can be a big help, especially during stealth sequences or when you need to get away quickly, as it gives you finer control over parkour mechanics, enabling side ejects and back ejects from any height, even if you are jumping down into a void.

However, since you can jump down to your defeat, it's best to practice before enabling this option for more intense segments. It did help me significantly as I found basic parkour limiting and clunky, at times, but your mileage may vary.

To turn Advanced Parkour on, you must:

Screen Shake and Ship Camera Sway

While Screen Shake and especially Ship Camera Sway make Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced very immersive, they can be a massive distraction that could even cause you motion sickness. As such, if you are particularly sensible to this, you will want to turn them off as soon as you start the game.

To turn Screen Shake and Ship Camera Sway off, you must:

Difficulty Tuning

Following modern entries in the series such as Assassin's Creed Shadows, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced gives you granular control of the game's difficulty with options for Combat, Stealth, Naval and Activities. While Normal is an almost perfect representation of the difficulty level of the original game, and pretty balanced in most cases, I have found combat to be quite easy at Normal, mostly thanks to the new Parry mechanics that can be used to take down multiple enemies with a Perfect Parry.

As such, to make battles feel thrilling and put Edward's expanded combat kit to good use, I suggest you set Combat Difficulty to Hard as, without RPG mechanics leading to enemies feel like damage sponges, it strikes a very solid balance between challenging and engaging which Normal doesn't.
