A pirate character in 'Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced' boards a damaged enemy ship with smoke rising in the background.

Shortly after turning the Jackdaw into your own ship in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, you will be able to upgrade its equipment to allow Edward and his crew to take on other ships, and fully live out the pirate dream.

However, with so many upgrades available from the get-go requiring Reales and materials, you shouldnt' spread your upgrades around, but rather focus on a few significant ones that will pay off big as the adventure proceeds.

Best Early Upgrades

Without a doubt, the best early upgrades you should get as soon as possible for your Jackdaw ship are upgrades for the Round and Heated Shot, Broadside Cannons, and Hull.

The reason why these upgrades are crucial and should be your main priority is evident. With the first two, you will be able to deal way more damage and in a shorter amount of time, while the third ensures you can resist assaults from stronger ships.

These upgrades also make the game's money and resource farming loop much smoother, thus allowing you to enhance the Harbourmaster at Great Inagua (required to unlock the upper upgrade tiers) and obtain other non-critical upgrades faster.
