There are apps on the App Store that provides fullscreen experience on iPhone and iPads. Even though the fullscreen mode is definitely welcome, the consistent need to check the Status Bar for time, battery and other information is important for many. However, the status bar, as well all know, is hidden from view. This is about to change with StatusPeek 2. So let's dive in to see some more details on the matter.

StatusPeek 2 Shows Only The Status Bar In Fullscreen Apps

Currently, to view the status bar in iOS 10, you have to swipe down from the top of the display by which it is displayed in the Notification Center. However, doing so halts the activity on your iPhone or iPad, which is definitely inconvenient at time. Apart from this, by pressing the Home button, you can check the status bar from the Home screen as well. This action too minimizes the complete app or game.

If you're lucky enough to possess a jailbroken status, a new jailbreak tweak called StatusPeek 2 allows you to view the status bar with ease when you're using an app in fullscreen. When you simply swipe down from the top of the display, the tweak shows just the status bar instead of the Notification Center. This is definitely a plus since only relevant information is displayed and the app or game is not affected.

Once you perform the swiping down operation, the status bar will be displayed for a short period of time before disappearing again. This complete action is something we're familiar with in some Android devices. Altogether, this is a convenient yet a faster way to view the status bar.

StatusPeek 2 also comes with a dedicated pane in which you can easily enable or disable the tweak on demand. In addition to this, you also have a customization option available to change the theme of the status bar to light or dark. While the purpose of  the tweak is pretty minor and does not add a boatload of functionality, the single feature is quite handy at times.

StatusPeek 2 is a must have jailbreak tweak if you're into playing games on your iOS 10 device. If you're interested, the tweak is available for free in Cydia's BigBoss repo.

This is it for now, folks. What are your thoughts on the new StatusPeek 2 jailbreak tweak? Would you be giving it a spin? Share your thoughts in the comments.
