Google recently dropped the Android 15 Developer Preview 2, and the update brought a number of much-needed changes. Of course, the developer preview, as the name suggests, is meant for developers, but if you are willing to try, you can go ahead and do so.
Android 15 Developer Preview 2 is giving us a great idea of what we are going to get in the future
The changes in the Android 15 Developer Preview 2 were spotted by 9to5Google and are now available on all supported Pixel devices. If you are looking to install the latest update, you can do so by heading over here and installing the update.
With that said, let's have a look at all the new things in the Android 15 Developer Preview 2. For starters, the new system update now brings a feature to the archive app. This is a great way of making sure that you are not deleting the apps that you don't regularly use. You can just archive these apps on your phone and save yourself from any clutter.
In addition, you will now have to authenticate every time you change between USB modes, which will help add another layer of security. There are also some tweaks in the Settings that were first introduced in Android 14 QPR3.
Android 15 Developer Preview 2 also brings some tweaks to the Pixel launcher in the form of adding labels to all apps and new Apps list settings, which makes the experience easier for everyone. There is a new Audio sharing feature as well, that will let you share audio over Bluetooth with your friends. This is a handy feature that you can use to play the same music on multiple headphones or Bluetooth devices.
The Android 15 Developer Preview 2 includes several bug fixes, but we highly advise against installing it as a daily driver. It is not stable enough and can cause issues, so it is best to avoid it altogether.
Another thing to note is that if you are looking forward to installing Android 15 Developer Preview 2, you can only do so using factory images. Google is not making the OTA image an option, but if you are already running the first developer preview, you should receive an OTA update for the latest update.
