Microsoft’s head of Xbox marketing, Aaron Greenberg, has taken to Twitter to fuel the hype for the upcoming Xbox Scorpio.

Now that we’ve entered 2017, it’s time to boost the hype for Project Scorpio, Microsoft’s mid-cycle Xbox upgrade. The Scorpio is slated for a release later this year, although an exact release date has yet to be announced.

“It is 2017, the year of PROJECT SCORPIO, are you ready for the beast!?”, Greenberg tweeted yesterday.

In a follow-up tweet, the Xbox marketing head expressed that “people are ready” for the Scorpio.

Microsoft announced the Xbox Scorpio during the company’s E3 press conference last year, and from the looks of it, the console will be a “beast” indeed. The Scorpio will sport an 8-core CPU, six teraflops of computing power and more than 320 GB/s of memory bandwidth. According to Microsoft’s Xbox head, Phil Spencer, the console will be the “most powerful console ever made”, capable of delivering true native 4K gaming without having to make compromises.

Whether Project Scorpio turns out to be a true “beast” remains to be seen, but Microsoft is working hard to deliver an amazing console. As always, we will keep you updated when more Scorpio details surface.
