Google has just unveiled its latest Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro models at its Made by Google event, bringing a host of exciting upgrades that enhance user experience across photography, performance, and design. The company has also introduced the new Pixel 10 Pro Fold and its highly anticipated TSMC-made Tensor G5 chip. If you have been waiting for the devices, check out the breakdown of what is new and what changes will bring the most impact.
Google’s Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro deliver advanced photography, smarter AI features, and a long-lasting battery for a truly premium Android experience
Other than the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, Google has also announced the new Pixel 10 Pro Fold, new earbuds, smartwatches, and a plethora of accessories, which we will be covering in dedicated posts. As for the Pixel 10 series, the changes are immense, and you are definitely getting more value than last year's Pixel 9 lineup, even though they share the same price tag.
Design
Starting off with the design, the Pixel 10 series maintains Google’s signature design language with a sleek glass back and aluminum frame. The base Pixel 10 features a 6.3-inch Actua Display with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, ensuring vibrant visuals even under direct sunlight. The ‘Pro’ models boast a Super Actua Display with a 10 percent increase in brightness levels, reaching as high as 3,300 nits. These enhancements will provide an immersive user experience when viewing content or just multitasking in broad daylight.
Enhanced Camera Capabilities
As for the cameras, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL bring major refinements to the table, despite the fact that the hardware has remained the same as last year’s. However, with Google’s integration of a new image signal processor (ISP) and enhanced autofocus algorithms, the results will be smoother in video capture and improved low-light performance. The 50MP main camera benefits from enhanced optical image stabilization, as it doubles the range of compensation for steadier shots. All of these aspects combined deliver an experience that is ideal for photography enthusiasts.
The standard Pixel 10 introduces a significant upgrade as well with the addition of a new 10.8MP telephoto lens, offering 5x optical zoom and 20x Super Res Zoom. This enhancement allows users to capture distant subjects with remarkable clarity. The main 48MP wide lens now features improved stabilization, ensuring steady shots even in challenging conditions. Additionally, the 13MP ultrawide lens takes the use case to a new level. All models of the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro feature 10-bit HDR video recording by default, delivering vibrant and true-to-life footage.
Performance And Battery Life
Under the hood, the Pixel 10 series is powered by Google’s new custom Tensor G5 chip, delivering faster performance and enhanced efficiency. The base Pixel 10 comes with 12GB of RAM, while the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL are equipped with 16GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking and responsiveness.
Battery life has also seen a boost thanks to the new chip and a bigger set of batteries. The Pixel 10 features a 4,970mAh battery, which will provide up to 30 hours of usage, and the Pixel 10 Pro models come with bigger batteries as well—4,870mAh for the Pixel 10 Pro and 5,200mAh for the Pro XL. Both of these models are slated to come with more than 30 hours of runtime. These refinements are complemented by the new Qi2 wireless charging standard, with the Pro XL supporting up to 25W of charging speeds. The company also introduced the new Pixelsnap feature, which is the same as MagSafe, allowing wireless chargers to snap in place via magnets.
New AI-Powered Features
Google continues to leverage AI to enhance user experience, and the latest Pixel 10 lineup is no exception. The new devices are equipped with the new “Camera Coach” feature, which is an AI-driven utility that provides real-time feedback on framing and composition, allowing users to capture better photos. Moreover, the new “Auto Best Take” feature automatically selects the best facial expressions from a series of shots, which is an extension of an existing feature. Gemini has also been integrated deeply into the devices, which includes improved voice recognition and contextual suggestions, making the new Pixels smarter than before.
Pricing and Availability
The new Pixel 10 starts at $799 for the 128GB base model, while the 256GB variant is available for $899. On the flip side, the Pixel 10 Pro starts at $999, and the Pro XL begins at $1,199. Pre-orders are now live, with devices shipping on August 28. The prices are competitive and an attractive option for those seeking premium features without switching to other Android-based handsets like the Galaxy S25 lineup. We will share additional details on the devices, so be sure to keep an eye out.
