The new GMKtech mini PC offers mid-range specs and offers versatile connectivity options for gamers and content creators.

Popular mini PC maker GMKtech has announced a brand new mini PC called NucBox K16, featuring the Zen 3+ Ryzen 7 7735HS APU and up to 32 GB LPDDRX RAM for gamers and professionals. The NucBox K16 boasts a cube-like chassis, made of a CNC-machined aluminum C-frame chassis that boasts a sandblasted anodized finish. The device features two different configurations with different storage capacities. Users can either get the 32 GB RAM + 512 GB SSD or the 32 GB RAM + 1 TB configuration based on their needs and budget.

The mini PC is powered by an 8-core/16-thread Rembrandt Refresh CPU, which brings RDNA 2-based Radeon 680M integrated graphics for graphical workloads. The system can play games as well, but those who need more raw power can add a discrete GPU via the OCuLink port, provided at the front I/O. With this interface, users can play modern titles using external GPUs, but it should be kept in mind that OCuLink is limited to PCIe Gen 4.0 x4 speed, which, although faster than the Thunderbolt 4 interface, won't compete with native PCIe Gen 4.0 slots that usually run at x16 modes on desktops.

For regular uses the NucBox K16 can deliver some decent performance in both gaming and productivity applications, delivering up to 50W for the high-performance mode. Two more modes are available for less intensive tasks, and the mini PC can switch to either Balance mode, which works at 45W, or to Silent mode, which further reduces the power consumption to 35W.

Connectivity includes the latest USB4 Type C port, a few USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a 3.5mm audio jack, dual LAN ports, WiFi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2 to get started right away. GMKtech NucBox K16 can now be ordered from the official website, starting at $679 for 32 GB + 512 GB configuration, and the 32 GB + 1 TB configuration is priced at $729. Both variants are currently bundled with a free USB-C PD 30W power adapter.
