As Apple's new iPhone 17 series matures and its demand stabilizes, global average shipping times are expected to gradually trend downward. Nonetheless, the iPhone 17's current demand trends appear to be countering this inevitable downward pull right now, as the lineup's global average ship times remained stable over the past two weeks.
BofA: "Our Tracking Of iPhone Ship Dates On Apple’s Own Website, And Various Carrier Websites, Indicates That As of Oct 13th, Ship Times For The iPhone 17 Pro And Pro Max Models Have Been Stable In The Past Two Weeks."
While noting that the global average ship times for the Apple iPhone 17 lineup have remained largely stable over the past two weeks, Bank of America's Wamsi Mohan declared in a dedicated note out today that the average ship time for the iPhone 17 Pro is currently standing at 13 days, while that for the Pro Max variant is a little bit more stretched, at 20 days.
Other insights from the BofA note include:
- In the US, the availability of the iPhone 17 lineup at carrier websites is better than that on Apple's own website.
- "On Apple’s website, Pro has a lead time of 2-3 weeks (vs carrier average of 6 days) and Pro Max has a lead time of 2-3 weeks (vs carrier average of 13 days)."
Meanwhile, as we noted in a recent post, the new iPhone lineup's relatively exuberant reception has now propelled Apple to an acme of sorts, with the Cupertino giant managing to record its best third quarter ever. As per the research and intelligence firm Omdia, Apple's iPhone shipments grew by 4 percent year-over-year in the third quarter of 2025, marking "its strongest Q3 performance ever."
