GIGABYTE Representative Confirms AORUS RTX 5060 Ti AI BOX Release in India; The eGPU Supports Latest Thunderbolt 5 Interface for Higher Bandwidth

Hardware manufacturer GIGABYTE is set to bring its latest external GPU to the Indian market, as one of its representatives just announced the news on the r/IndianGaming subreddit. This is the AORUS RTX 5060 Ti AI BOX, which was first introduced in September, 2025, but was officially launched in December. The external GPU is one of the handful of eGPUs to boast the latest Thunderbolt 5 interface for unlocking high-performance gaming.

The GIGABYTE representative u/Elegant_Bottle741 says that the new AI BOX will be available in India soon, and it will be the first-ever external GPU from the company in the Indian market. The AORUS RTX 5060 Ti AI BOX will deliver the desktop-grade GeForce RTX 5060 Ti GPU with 16 GB GDDR7 VRAM capacity for modern memory-intensive games. The eGPU will boast the latest Thunderbolt 5 port, through which users can connect their laptops or mini PCs to unlock higher performance.

For many who don't have a powerful discrete GPU in their laptops/mini PCs, this will be a viable solution for a fluid gaming experience, and since the eGPU is equipped with its own dedicated 330W external power adapter, it's ready to deliver high-performance gaming out of the box. Users with the latest Thunderbolt 5-equipped devices will be able to benefit much more since this interface unlocks nearly twice the bandwidth vs Thunderbolt 4. The Thunderbolt 5 port brings 80 Gbps of bandwidth, exceeding that of the OCuLink interface, and further narrowing the gap with the native PCIe 4.0 x8 mode.

...Overall, it’s not positioned as a replacement for budget desktops, but as a niche upgrade path for users with Thunderbolt laptops or compact PCs. If pricing is competitive, it could be a practical option for that specific audience.

Pricing hasn't been disclosed, but it will be a big factor in its popularity. Since GPUs are getting expensive due to higher DRAM costs, a 16 GB discrete GPU won't be very affordable right now, particularly in the form of an eGPU.
