DDR5 RAM kits continue to see a noticeable rise in prices every month, and have now reached their highest levels ever.
Germany Witnesses Nearly 7% Hike in DDR5 RAM Prices This Month, Higher Than Jan and Feb Levels
DDR5 RAM prices are reaching ridiculously high levels this year. While January and February 2026 levels were already the worst in the memory market, July came with even worse prices ever recorded in history. This data might not represent the global pricing trend for DDR5 memory kits, but it's quite accurate when we compare the current DDR5 memory prices across various regions.
As reported by 3D Center, Germany continues to witness nearly 4X the price compared to July 2025 levels for multiple DDR5 RAM kits. This data was accumulated from multiple German retailers for several DDR5 RAM kits, including 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB, 24 GB, and 48 GB configurations. Therefore, the data accurately represents the current state of DDR5 RAM in the country.
While the country witnessed the highest prices in January and February this month, July broke both records by witnessing a sharp hike compared to previous months. The DDR5 RAM kit price index peaked at 440% in Jan and Feb, but now stands at a whopping 448%. This is a sharp rise compared to the June price index of 419%, and if you see the table, you will understand how we got here.
While previously, only a handful of DDR5 RAM kits were seen affected by RAMpocalypse, this month, almost every kit saw a noticeable rise in prices, except for the 2x 48 GB DDR5-6400 and 2x 24 GB DDR5-7200 configurations. 2x 16 GB DDR5-6000 CL28 and 2x 16 GB DDR5-7200+ remain the most affected configurations with nearly 16-17% price hike month over month. Then we have several DDR5 kits seeing a sudden price surge by 2-14%.
Overall, the July 2026 price levels remain the worst since last year, making PC builds and upgrades increasingly unfeasible.
