A report from Youhap News TV states that a truck carrying a large quantity of Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 was stolen from London’s Heathrow Airport after arriving at its destination. The shipment contained merchandise worth £7.9 million, or $10.6 million. Keep in mind that each Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 costs £1,799 and £1,149 in the U.K., respectively, and there were around 5,000 units that were stolen.
In total, 12,000 devices were nabbed from the truck, comprising of 5,000 Galaxy Watch 8 units, plus models hailing from the Galaxy S25 series and the entry-level Galaxy A16. Thankfully, the report mentions that all smartphones and smartwatches were insured, and unsurprisingly, Samsung wasted no time in working with the British police to recover the stolen handsets. With the investigation already underway, the company should not take long to apprehend the people involved in the heist.
After this incident, Samsung will likely take more serious countermeasures to prevent such incidents.
