A couple of weeks ago, we ran into some patents showcasing that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is going to come with a wider cover display that is more akin to other foldable phones in the market, like the Pixel Fold and OnePlus Open. I would personally consider that a win because having a wider cover display means the phone is easier to handle and looks better, too.
Galaxy Z Fold 6's design still looms in the unknown as more details emerge, contradicting what we have heard about the phone in the past
However, a new rumor has surfaced which claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 might not have as wide of a cover display as we saw in the patent leak some weeks ago. The source claims that although the cover display will be wider, it's not as wide as the previous patents hinted at.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 is not as wide as the patent picture, but it is also relatively wide, and the screen R angle is close to the right angle. If you look for a mobile phone for analogy, it is more like the screen R angle of Nubia Z60 Ultra. And the middle frame is similar, which is a… pic.twitter.com/wWKCM0teMb

As you can see in the tweet above, Ice Universe claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is not as wide as the patent picture, but it still is wide. The source further claims that the screen's R angle is close to the right angle, and it looks similar to the one that we have seen on the ZTE Z60 Ultra. The middle frame is also claimed to be similar to a vertical design.
The tweet and the news itself leave a lot to be asked because, let's be honest, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is still months away from going official, and we have a considerable wait before the device actually comes out. If you are wondering, the new foldable phones will go official sometime in July/August later this year. However, considering how nothing in the tech world is a secret, you can expect early designs and renders to start showing up in a couple of months. With official renders hitting the internet a month or two before the official launch.
It is obvious that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is getting a lot of traction and for all the right reasons. Based on the stream of rumors that we have heard so far, it has become apparent that Samsung is making some big changes to the new foldable, and I am really hoping that these changes are conducive to the overall smartphone experience. Samsung has been delivering robust foldable phones for some time now, and I really hope that this upward trajectory does not stop.
There is even word of a low-cost Galaxy Z Fold 6 as evidence has started to pop up, and if that is the case, then I would really be interested to see how that pans out.
