There has been a lot of evidence in support of the fact that Samsung could release a more affordable Galaxy Z Fold 6 variant this year as a part of its Fan Edition lineup. This is funny because Samsung also talked about how there will not be an affordable foldable phone, but despite those statements, we keep seeing more and more evidence popping up in favor of the device's release.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE sounds like a reality, but we don't know when it will come out
The report that surfaced today claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE will not support S Pen. This is one way that the company will try to cut costs, but we are not sure just how much. There have been conflicting rumors about the second Galaxy Z Fold 6. Some rumors have gone as far as claiming that Samsung is going to release an Ultra variant, which will be more premium than the regular variant, and some rumors have claimed that there is going to be a more affordable variant in tow. Now, considering how the standard variant already costs a lot of money, the chances of a Fan Edition variant are much higher.
The one thing that we don't know about the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE is the release date. Samsung could unveil it in July alongside the main series and everything else, but then that would make the whole event a lot more crowded as the company already has a new ring, smartwatch, and two foldable phones planned.
What I believe is going to happen is that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE will be released later this year at a separate event, even when Samsung will announce its Fan Edition devices just like last year. That seems more plausible. Whatever the case might be, it's becoming more obvious that we are going to see a fan edition foldable phone this year. This could very well be a low-cost Galaxy Z Fold 6 because making a low-cost Galaxy Z Flip 6 would not make enough sense since the phone is already going to cost under $1,000. We will be getting more information in the coming days, so be sure that you stay tuned.
Do you think a budget Galaxy Z Fold 6 is going to be a good idea, or should Samsung keep the foldable segment at a premium price? Let us know your opinions in the comments below.
