We have been hearing a lot about an affordable foldable from Samsung coming out later this year. The new information we have just received suggests that Samsung's upcoming foldable could be called the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE. This will be a low-cost alternative to its bigger brother.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE could become a reality, but not in the second half of this year
Interestingly, over the past couple of weeks, we heard that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have an even more expensive Ultra variant, and the standard variant will be the cheaper model. However, the new report contradicts that and hints at an affordable foldable phone that you could get your hands on.
The reports surrounding this Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE indicate that this could be released later this year, sometime in the fourth quarter. This means it will most likely not come out at the same time as its elder sibling in July. It makes sense because Samsung would want all the attention towards the flagship devices, not the more affordable ones.
This reminds me of the time when the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE, and other devices were released at a separate event, away from their elder sibling. So, it makes sense that Samsung has launched many FE devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold Z FE. Do keep in mind that the name is subject to change.
Although I am glad that there is a possibility of a more affordable Galaxy Z Fold 6, I have a lot of concerns regarding the device, mainly how it will hold up against the more expensive variant and just what corners Samsung will cut. At this point, we only know that Samsung will be excluding some features from the phone; we just don't know which features. I hope the company does not make any compromises on the phone's overall durability because that would ruin the user experience and the company's legacy.
With rumors of the affordable Galaxy Z Fold 6 piling up, it is safe to say that there is a possibility we might be getting this phone sometime in the near future, and considering how nothing remains a secret, we will keep you posted once we learn more.
