Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Plus rumored to be ordered in high quantities

Two members of the Galaxy S24 lineup could sell in even higher volume than the Galaxy S23 series, according to one tipster, as he bases the latest rumor on Samsung’s recent activity of having ordered additional quantities of the Galaxy S24 Plus and its top-end Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Korean giant may also introduce a price cut to get more eyeballs on its products, and since it is announcing the three new models earlier, it might take away some market share from the iPhone 15 family.

Earlier rumor claimed that the pricing of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 would remain unchanged; Samsung could introduce a price cut for the base model

The exact initial shipment estimate was not provided by Ice Universe, but he claims that Samsung has ordered the Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra in higher quantities, suggesting that the company anticipates higher demand for these two. As for the price reduction rumor, that is strange to hear from Ice Universe as an earlier report stated that Samsung would retain the same pricing structure for the Galaxy S24 series as it did for the Galaxy S23 due to the Exynos 2400 being introduced in various markets.

This strategy would allow Samsung to save up on component costs that would otherwise have accumulated in large sums thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is said to be more expensive than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Qualcomm’s previous-generation SoC that was estimated to cost $160 a pop. However, another rumor states that the base Galaxy S24 with 128GB of internal storage would feature the slower UFS 3.1 memory instead of UFS 4.0, so that is where the price reduction could be introduced, though nothing is confirmed at this stage.

Coming back to the Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra, both models are said to feature 12GB of RAM, which would be a major selling point, particularly for the ‘Plus’ version, though we cannot comment if this memory upgrade will cannibalize the sales of the ‘Ultra’ variant. Regardless, another change that Samsung is bringing to the entire lineup is LTPO panels, which will make the Galaxy S24 Plus the ultimate sweet spot for consumers who view the Galaxy S24 Ultra as a pricey upgrade.

This is the first time in a long time that Ice Universe has praised Samsung for its current position, which can mean that the Galaxy S24 launch might bolster the Korean manufacturer’s shipments for next year. However, nothing is confirmed now, so we recommend our readers treat this information with a pinch of salt, and we will be back with more updates.
