Samsung's Galaxy Ring can last for up to 9 days before needing to recharge

The Galaxy Ring was officially announced at MWC 2024, with Samsung stating that the release of its latest wearable will take place in the second half of 2024. Before the product is available, we are expected to learn more tidbits about it, with the latest information revolving around its runtime, which is said to be 9 days. In comparison, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 can last for 36 hours, but you have to remember that the latter is a completely different piece of technology.

Since the Galaxy Ring lacks a display, a component that chews through battery life, it sports a longer runtime

A briefing was attended by Financial News, in which the media outlet was informed about the Galaxy Ring’s endurance. Apparently, the battery life of the health-focused accessory can last between 5 to 9 days, depending on the wearer’s usage. Having a multi-day battery life will be advantageous because it will mean that users have less to worry about when it comes to topping up an additional device, and that, too, something that keeps track of their health and wellness.

The briefing stated that the Galaxy Ring can last for as long as it can because it lacks a display. Unfortunately, that benefit also turns into a drawback, as now, there is no way to monitor your vitals, and you will always need a smartphone tethered to the smart ring to view this crucial information. Regardless, it is just one of those technology products in which you are giving something up but getting something in return.

Unfortunately, the Galaxy Ring does not support phone calls, but that would be unnecessary, especially when you have your phone to complete that task. However, it should be mentioned that Samsung’s Galaxy Watch range has this functionality, so if you absolutely must have a calling feature, perhaps this wearable is not for you. Pricing of the Galaxy Ring was not mentioned in the report, though with the launch expected to take place in July later this year, we will have all the information at our fingertips, so stay tuned for more updates.
