Did you order some giant mechs with your turn-based strategy game? Subset Games, the makers of FTL: Faster Than Light, just announced their new project, Into The Breach.

Apparently, in the not so distant future Earth becomes under siege by colossal monsters who dwell beneath our feet. Thankfully, we've got skilled giant mech pilots to beat those creatures back to where they belong.

The announcement trailer shows a bit of the gameplay. By the looks of it, environmental attacks play a role in combat. We saw a blast from a rocket take out a dam and the resulting tidal wave eliminate the creatures causing trouble.

Here's what to expect from the turn-based strategy game:

Subset Games started working on Into the Breach since the summer of 2014 and they "are taking the time needed to ensure Into the Breach is attains the quality people expect after FTL," according to their official website.

We also got word that Ben Prunty, FTL’s composer, is working on the original soundtrack for the game with award-winning sound designers PowerUp Audio. Veteran game designer Chris Avellone will be lending his writing skills to the team over at Subset.

Into the Breach is coming to PC, Mac, and Linux. There's is no planned release date and will be available 'when it is finished.'
