EA Sports F1 25 is adding PSSR support alongside the release of its 2026 Season Pack, which is taking the place of a proper F1 26 release this year after developer Codemasters revealed it would take a year off from a full release to come back with a 2027 game that "looks, feels, and plays differently, delivering more gameplay choices."
Announced in a new PlayStation Blog post, EA Sports associate brand marketing manager Mark Roberts answered some questions on what went into adding PSSR to F1 25 and what PS5 Pro owners can expect from the game now getting a 'PS5 Pro Enhanced' badge on the PlayStation Store.
Which, according to Roberts, mainly includes improvements to F1 25's Quality Mode, which already included ray tracing features and ran at 60 FPS on PS5 Pro. Now, with the added benefit of PSSR support, Roberts says, "our ray tracing enhanced presentation with enhanced PSSR is the best you can get on console hardware."
The game's Performance Mode also benefits from PSSR, with PS5 Pro owners with compatible TVs and monitors capable of playing at a smooth 120Hz, and Roberts even mentions support for 8K resolutions, if you have the TV capable of if, that is.
If you already own F1 25, then you'll be able to grab the 2026 Season Pack as a DLC expansion. If you don't already own F1 25, then you can get it all bundled together with the F1 25: 2026 Season Edition. Both the expansion and the new bundled version will be available later this week on June 3, 2026.
"All these enhancements come together in spectacular fashion in the 2026 Season Pack, particularly with the new Madring circuit," Roberts said, " the first track built from the ground up with all these new features in mind. This crazy new high-speed street circuit is the perfect location to experience enhanced PSSR and all our Ray Tracing features at their very best."
As for the 2026 Season Pack, all players who grab the expansion will get to check out F1 gameplay with active aerodynamics and a new Overtake mode. The Career and My Team modes have also been expanded in the DLC, with fully customizable team management.
