Drumroll: Samsung Singapore X Account Operated Via An Apple iPhone

A futuristic scene depicts a mechanical lion under 'Samsung Bixby' and a robotic eagle under an Apple logo, facing each other in a high-tech cityscape.

It hardly engenders confidence when a company's employees eschew its products in favor of those from its archrival. This is apparently the case with Samsung Singapore, whose X account is being operated via an Apple iPhone.

Samsung Singapore's X app was downloaded via Apple's App Store

As first identified by the X account @LeakerApple, Samsung Singapore has apparently used an Apple App Store to download the X app, indicated by the "Connected via Singapore App Store" statement in its 'About' section.

Of course, this is not the first time Samsung has been caught using Apple's iPhones over the past few years. In fact, a number of prominent such incidents have emerged in recent years, including:

  1. Back in 2018, Samsung's X accounts (then Twitter) for Nigeria and Saudi Arabia promoted the Galaxy Note 9 while using iPhones.
  2. In 2021, Samsung used an iPhone to tease the Galaxy S21.
  3. In 2022, a banner for the Samsung Members app used the form factor of an iPhone instead of the Samsung Galaxy's.
  4. In 2024, Samsung's official US page posted a video that showed an employee using an Apple MagSafe case on a Galaxy Z Flip.

When it comes to imitation, Samsung has even copied Apple's strategies and products. For instance, it followed Apple's example to eliminate the microphone from its smartphones and the charging brick from the official packaging.

More recently, the South Korean giant followed Apple into the AI-enabled smart glasses race, with two versions reportedly in the works right now.

Just today, a report came out that suggested Samsung was copying Apple's AI strategy by preparing to power its Bixby voice assistant with Perplexity AI's models.
