EA has officaly  announced that Dragon Age 2 which is the sequel to the highly successful RPG  game Dragon Age Origins (Released Last Year) by Bioware. The game has also been given the release date for March 2011 and will come out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

This news came after a teaser tweet was reveled on Bioware's Official Twitter page which said “2morrow will be a great day for BioWare fans. Just sayin.” and it is a really great news indeed. Principal designer at BioWare, Rob Bartel, has also said that console and PC release Dragon Age was a bigger global release than Mass Effect.

"Dragon Age was an extremely successful title for us - last November it was the single most globally successful title we've put out to date," said Bartel.

"This is one of our two primary IPs in the Edmonton studio in Canada, and then we're working on the Old Republic down in Austen. So Dragon Age is a very big part of what we do and for what the future for BioWare will hold for sure."

The game will offer players a dynamic and multifaceted storyline and looks like the combat system is getting an overhaul, towards a more action-RPG route. The plot of the story actually involves Hawke, a survivor of the Blight and a hero who embarks on a journey to transform the face of the Dragon Age universe forever.

The game is also available for pre-orders starting from today.
