The latest builds arrive a week after the release candidate build was seeded to developers for testing. Apple released watchOS 9.5 and tvOS 16.5 for all compatible Apple Watch and Apple TV devices
If you are interested, watchOS 9.5 can be downloaded on your compatible Apple Watch model through the dedicated Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Simply head over to the General > Software Update and follow the on-screen instructions to download the latest watchOS 9.5 update on your Apple Watch. Take note that your Apple Watch should have over 50 percent of battery life and plugged into a power source. Additionally, the wearable should also be in the range of your iPhone.
As for what is new, watchOS 9.5 comes with a new beta installation method for developers. Previously, developers had to download a dedicated configuration profile from the Apple Developer Center. Now, developers with a registered account can download the latest beta on their Apple Watch through the Apple Watch app on iPhone. The new method associates a user's Apple ID with the developer account to receive beta updates over the air. The update also contains a new Pride Celebration wallpaper and a boatload of bug fixes for a fluid user experience.
Apart from watchOS 9.5, you can now also download the latest tvOS 16.5 update on your supported Apple TV device. tvOS updates will be installed automatically on your Apple TV if you have enabled Automatic Software Update. Manually, you can head over to System > Software Update and install the latest update.
As for the latest features, tvOS updates usually do not house any features but come with stability improvements and bug fixes. The latest update also includes under-the-hood performance improvements, so be sure to download and install the latest tvOS 16.5 update.
