tvOS 18 now avaialble as beta to developers

Apple announced a handful of new AI features at its WWDC 2024 event, and while most of the features were oriented towards iOS 18 and macOS 15, the company made sure that tvOS 18 was not left behind. Now, the company has released its first developer beta of tvOS 18, which comes with many changes that are oriented toward Apple TV. The latest beta is only available to developers for now, and we can expect a public beta in July, which will be a more stable build compared to the current version.

Apple has released tvOS 18 beta to developers for all compatible Apple TV models

WWDC 2024 is Apple's first step in the AI category, and it only shows how seriously the company is taking its initiatives. The company's approach to AI and its integration with iOS 18 shows how far the company has come in a year and where it sees itself in the next few years. While most major features are part of the iOS 18 update, tvOS has always remained a minor upgrade, considering the number of features available in the build.

If you are a developer, you can download and install the latest tvOS 18 update from the Settings app on your Apple TV and test out the AI features for yourself. However, you have to make sure that your Apple ID is connected to your Developer Account to receive the updates over the air. Otherwise, the company would not know where to send the beta update. The beta is available for free for all compatible models and brings a handful of nifty features that you can test out right now. Apple will release the final updates later this year, potentially in September after the iPhone 16 update. Until then, it is up to developers and Apple's software teams to curate and fix issues in the build for a smooth rollout. We will be covering the WWDC 2024 event in extensive detail, so be sure to stick around for more details.
