Diablo IV patch 1.0.2 notes Steam Spring Sale

Diablo IV launches in just a few short months, but some hoping to avoid paying full price for the anticipated game have been holding out hope that it might be coming to Xbox Game Pass. There’s some reason to believe it could be possible – a multiplayer RPG like Diablo IV is a good match for Game Pass, and, of course, Microsoft may end up owning the makers of the game if their purchase of Activision Blizzard is allowed to go through.

Well, apologies to your wallet, but according to Blizzard general manager Rod Fergusson, the studio has “no plans” for a Diablo IV Game Pass release…

“It's awesome seeing the excitement around the Diablo IV Beta and our Wolf Pack puppy! We’ve been getting some questions about D4 on Game Pass and I want to let you know we have no plans for that. See you in Sanctuary during the Beta Early Access weekend starting on March 17!”

So, there you have it – better start saving your pennies now kids, because Game Pass isn’t bailing you out this time. Could Diablo IV come to Microsoft’s service eventually? Perhaps, but the game probably isn’t going to have any trouble attracting players, and Acti-Blizz want as many of them to pay the full price as possible.

That said, you can get a taste of Diablo IV for free via the game’s upcoming early access and open betas. Here are the dates for them:
