Dell's New Premium Series Offers Slightly Bigger Screens on 14-inch and 16-inch Models, Powered by Arc Graphics, RTX 5050, RTX 5060, and RTX 5070

The Dell 14 and Dell 16 models are getting upgrades and will be renamed under the "Dell Premium" naming convention. The new Dell 14 Premium and Dell 16 Premium laptops are the company's flagship models in the series, offering multiple configurations while retaining the XPS tradition and the iconic looks.

The two models will offer 14-inch and 16-inch models, which will be slightly bigger in screen sizes compared to the predecessors. For instance, the Dell 14 Premium will have a 14.5-inch screen and the Dell 16 Premium will have a 16.3-inch display size while retaining the same dimensions. The new displays bring the InfinityEdge displays, offering more immersion without increasing the footprint of the laptops.

The Dell 14 Premium offers three different configurations, offering the Core Ultra 7 255H, a 16-core processor for crunching large numbers and the option to choose between the Intel Arc built-in graphics and the GeForce RTX 4050. The memory and storage configuration will be either 16 GB/ 512 GB or 32 GB/ 1 TB, but the rest of the specs and features will be identical. Its 14.5-inch display will offer a 2K resolution with a brightness of up to 500 nits on an IPS panel that can run up to 120Hz refresh rate.

With a weight of just 1.63-1.72 kg, it's going to be incredibly lightweight and highly portable for users and will bring a 69.5 Whr of battery that can deliver up to 20 hours of battery life. The Dell 16 Premium, on the other hand, brings up to 27 hrs of battery life and is designed for enthusiasts, bringing the power of the GeForce RTX 5060 alongside the Core Ultra 7 255H or the more powerful Core Ultra 9 285H. Dell will later release the models with more graphics options, such as Intel Arc iGPU, GeForce RTX 5050, and GeForce RTX 5070.

The Dell 14 Premium starts at $1,649 for the base edition, featuring an Intel Arc iGPU, 16 GB LPDDR5X memory, and 512 GB SSD. The second model with RTX 4050 and 32 GB LPDDR5X memory, and 1 TB SSD retails for $2,249 while the one with an 3.2K OLED display will cost $2,449.

The Dell 16 Premium with a configuration of Core Ultra 7 255H, GeForce RTX 5060, and 16.3" non-touch 2K display is priced at $2,699 while the one with a Core Ultra 9 285H, GeForce RTX 5060, and 16.3" Touch 4K OLED will cost $3,049. Upcoming models with configuration, including the Intel Arc graphics, will cost lower, but the one with the GeForce RTX 5070 is likely going to cost between $2,700-$3,000, considering there is no change in the display properties.
