Death Stranding 2: On the Beach recently made its way over to PC after its initial launch on PS5 back in June 2025. It's a port that fans of the first game on PC were highly anticipating, and according to Alinea Analytics, that showed through with the port's initial sales.
In the firm's latest newsletter, it estimates that the game has sold 425K copies so far on Steam, and on top of its 1.6 million copies sold on PS5 (most of which came at launch), the game has officially made it over the 2 million copies sold mark.
Its arrival on PC even helped out sales on PS5, according to the report, since the game was on sale on the console alongside its arrival on PC. The game has seen a spike in copies sold when putting the game on sale previously, according to Alinea Analytics, but this instance, which coincided with the PC port's launch, saw an even more significant increase in copies sold than previous discounts.
It's a great start for the game as it experiences a new jolt of energy with this new port. It's back in the minds of players who may not have jumped in right at launch, and it's the game's quote-unquote real launch day for PC players who were never going to play it on PS5 anyway.
"The Steam version of Death Stranding 2 already accounts for 21% of copies," writes analyst Rhys Elliot. "In terms of revenue, Death Stranding 2 has generated over $110M on PS5 and $32.6M on Steam. With Epic included, it’s safe to say Death Stranding 2 has now passed $150M."
Elsewhere from Alinea Analytics, the firm recently reported that Bungie's new extraction shooter, Marathon, reached 1.2 million copies sold and MegaCrit's highly-anticipated sequel, Slay the Spire 2, reached 4.6 million copies sold. Which, today's newsletter updates to now be an estimated full 5 million copies sold.
