We recently got a peek at the first 18 minutes of the Dead Space remake, and despite the game obviously looking night-and-day better than the original, there were still plenty of “oh, it’s just a remaster” comments. Of course, that’s not really the case. Montreal developer Motive Studios has made it clear their approach is to largely stick to the original Dead Space script, while elevating familiar moments with new effects, staging, and more intense violence. So no, the changes won’t be as major as what Capcom does with the Resident Evil games, but this is definitely a remake. IGN has provided a new Dead Space remake vs. original comparison showing off some of the changes. Check it out, below.
