A booth display at a tech expo showcases CXMT LPDDR5X and DDR5 memory modules, highlighting features such as '12/16Gb' and '10667Mbps' for LPDDR5X, alongside '16/24Gb' and '8000Mbps' for DDR5.

CXMT has unveiled its first-ever DDR5 & LPDDR5X memory products for China, bringing in faster speeds & various options.

China's CXMT Debuts DDR5 & LPDDR5X Memory, Bringing In a Wide Variety of Options For Servers & Consumer PCs

Last year, we reported that CXMT (ChangXin Memory Technologies) was developing its first DDR5 memory technology and respective products. Just a few months ago, the company finalized its production plans and aimed to compete directly with Samsung, SK hynix, and Micron, the DRAM trio.

Today, at the 2025 China International Semiconductor Expo, the company officially unveiled its next-gen DRAM products, which include DDR5 and LPDDR5X memory.

The CXMT DDR5 memory comes in 16 Gb and 24 Gb densities, and features speeds of up to 8000 MT/s. The company laid out a full spectrum of products that will deploy this DRAM UDIMM, SODIMM, RDIMM, CSODIMM, CUDIMM, and TFF MRDIMM. Each of these products will leverage the CXMT DDR5 ICs, & will target all types of market segments such as Data Centers, Desktop PCs, Laptops, etc.

CXMT also showed its DDR5 ICs being utilized by ASGARD, a memory module manufacturer. These gaming memory kits are said to operate at much higher OC speeds. ASGARD was one of the first module makers to unveil CUDIMM DDR5 for the market.

In addition to DDR5, CXMT also unveiled its LPDDR5X products, which will include 12 Gb and 16 Gb densities. The chips will operate at up to 10,667 MT/s. The densities enable 12 GB, 16 GB, 24 GB, and 32GB capacities. These modules are aimed at laptops and embedded platforms, but also serve a purpose in the AI markets.

CXMT's DDR5 also debuts at a very interesting time when global DRAM suppliers are unable to meet the huge demand from the AI segment, leading to severe price increases across the market. With its own DDR5 production, China will be able to reduce its reliance on overseas manufacturers and will be able to provide a stable supply to its domestic consumers.
