Just one week after Patch 1.10, Pearl Abyss has rolled out Crimson Desert version 1.11.00 across all platforms (except for the Mac App Store, which always takes a little more time), continuing its incredible patch of post-launch updates. This new update brings expanded pet management, reworks the freshly introduced pinball minigame, adds shopkeeper recovery of lost gear, and a round of combat and control improvements.
The headline addition is new challenges that allow players to raise the maximum number of registerable pets from a previous limit to 100, though players can only summon up to 50 at camp at any one time. Players who have already completed relevant pet challenges will receive the new reward items retroactively. Baby wyverns also get their own dedicated map icon, and the patch improves pets so that their names are preserved when they grow.
One of the more player-friendly changes is that shopkeepers across Pywel will now buy back and resell rare equipment that players have lost. This covers rare items obtained from treasure chests, quests, and other sources, which will appear in shops within seven days of being lost and sold at a price higher than their original value.
The Crimson Desert patch makes several targeted changes to the game's pinball minigame to reduce frustration. Ball physics have been tweaked to feel heavier, pin layouts have been adjusted, and several issues have been fixed, including ball clipping through walls, getting stuck in the upper-left area, and falling incorrectly off the launcher.
Playable characters Damiane and Oongka can now equip the Mining Drill and Chainsaw, and a bug preventing their Spirit stat from increasing when leveling up Focus has been fixed. Wyvern combat has been adjusted so players can use Axiom Force to mount without needing to learn Back Hang first, and the patch fixes excessive stamina drain when attacking with a wyvern on land. Golem attack patterns have also been adjusted, and the abilities Explosive Evasive Shot and Multishot now properly trigger additional effects when used with special arrows.
Controller players can now remap buttons for Inventory, Map, Skills, Journal, and Photo Mode. A bug causing automatic remounting after dismounting a wyvern mid-air has been fixed, and the Depth of Field setting in Photo Mode can now be properly disabled. Mounts will also no longer be summoned in dangerous zones.
Pearl Abyss Marketing Director Will Powers recently confirmed the importance of these constant free updates, which essentially serve as an alternative marketing program. It's definitely working, as evidenced by Crimson Desert's new sales milestone of 6 million units sold in less than 3 months.
