Crimson Desert Clarity Mod Aims To Improve DLSS Ray Reconstruction Gameplay, But Everyone Benefits From The 4+ Battle Effect Removal

By all means, Crimson Desert is among the best-looking open-world games released in the current generation, but it's undeniable how Pearl Abyss may have gone a little too far with various combat effects which create a clarity issue at the moment where clean visuals matter the most, especially for those playing with NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction. Thankfully, a new mod addresses this issue in a way that benefits every user in some capacity.

The Combat Clarity for DLSS Ray Reconstruction mod, developed by perkzy1 and now available for download from Nexus Mods, addresses the combat clarity issue by disabling certain special effects via ReShade Shader Toggler.

“Effects like the Stationary Phantom/Ghost Trail that is used with Natures Echo, Impact Distortion effect that turns the applied area to pixel soup, Terrain kick up effects like grass, leaves, rocks, pebbles, and water. All these effects in tandem while in combat make for a pretty cluttered and blurry/pixelated image in motion when using RR especially, this mod fixes that,” the official mod description reads.

While the removal of this effect benefits those playing with DLSS Ray Reconstruction the most, all Crimson Desert players can use this mod to remove the above effects, which really clutter the screen when it matters the most. The mod is also fully modular, so you can choose which effects you want to disable. And the difference seems massive, as shown in the comparison screenshots below.

Looking at how developer Pearl Abyss is keeping a close eye on the community's wishlist, it's not entirely out of the question that the same options offered by the Combat Clarity mod will eventually be implemented in Crimson Desert in a future patch. Even if no other community requests are ever added to the game, it would still be a more than worthy game for all fans of open-world action games willing to turn a blind eye to the game's disjointed narrative, as I highlighted in my review.
