Today, Toys for Bob is launching the Crash Team Rumble Beta for all pre-order customers on PlayStation or Xbox platforms. However, we have secured 22 Crash Team Rumble beta codes for each console ecosystem, so you can get into the platforming fray even if you do not wish to pre-order right now.

This giveaway is set on a first-come, first-serve basis. Just complete the Gleam box form for the platform you're interested in and you will receive the code. You can redeem them just as you would with other PlayStation or Xbox codes in the respective stores. Do note that the PlayStation codes have to be redeemed with a US account.

The Crash Team Rumble Beta, which runs from today to Monday, April 24th, features a selection of maps and modes that will be available in the full game. Last month, we had the chance to attend a remote presentation for the press, where the developers shared a lot of information on the game's mechanics and features.

In this game, two teams of four players each will face off. The playable characters all have unique abilities, locomotion, and even stats like Health, Wumpa Capacity, Combat, Mobility, and Difficulty, making for interesting choices. Matches are said to be pretty fast-paced, taking between four and five minutes to complete, and their flow is also wildly dependent on the selected arena since maps will be very different from one another.

The basic goal in a Crash Team Rumble match will be to gather more Wumpa fruit than the rival team. You'll have to wander through the maps to break boxes, collect Wumpa, and get it back to your bank to 'score'. There are two types of crates; the standard one contains 5 Wumpa, while the 3x crate has 15 Wumpa. The first team to fill the bar with 2K Wumpa wins the match.

Naturally, CTR includes combat, but the developers stressed this isn't the focus of the multiplayer action. Combat is how you can prevent the other team from scoring, but playing the objective (gathering Wumpa) is what players should really be doing most of the time.

Crash Team Rumble will be released on June 20th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X. The standard edition is priced at $29.99, while the deluxe edition is available at a $10 premium with a few extra perks.
