Commandos: Origins

Kalypso Media and Claymore Game Studios announced the release of a demo for the upcoming real-time tactics game Commandos: Origins. The demo is available only on PC and Xbox Series S|X, although the full game is also launching on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

In this test mission, players will step into the iconic boots of the Green Beret and Marine and be immersed in the heart of tactical warfare. They have to sabotage a cutting-edge German radar system responsible for a shocking surge in RAF casualties. The Green Beret is adept with both his combat knife and his Colt M1911. However, sometimes, it's just more effective to use a sound decoy to distract the soldiers and slip past unnoticed. The Marine, on the other hand, uses his throwing knives with deadly precision and is an expert at throwing a simple rock to distract guards.

Set against the backdrop of the Channel Islands during World War II, the Commandos will use their unique skills to sabotage a German radar system, showcasing the exciting gameplay that Commandos: Origins promises. This demo-exclusive test mission, Operation: Prelude, is a sneak peek at the intricate gameplay mechanics and stealth tactics that await players in the full release.

The full game will include fourteen missions set in authentic World War II environments, ranging from the barren Arctic to the African desert. Players will be able to select six Commandos: Jack O’Hara “the Green Beret”, Thomas “the Sapper” Hancock, Francis T. “the Sniper” Woolridge, Samuel “the Driver” Brooklyn, James “the Marine” Blackwood, and Rene “the Spy” Duchamp.

Commandos: Origins is still scheduled to launch in 2024, even though there's only a couple and a half months left before the end of the year. It will be added to Game Pass PC and console on day one.
