Colorful Silently Launches Battle-AX HM770M-K WiFi D5 V20 Motherboard Powered By Intel Core i9 13900HX
Chinese hardware maker Colorful has quietly launched its first MoDT (Mobile on Desktop) motherboard, featuring the flagship Intel Raptor Lake mobile CPU. The motherboard is named "Battle-AX HM770M-K WiFi D5 V20", and is powered by the Intel H770 chipset. The motherboard comes pre-equipped with the Intel Core i9 13900HX, a 24-core/32-thread high-end mobile chip that can boost up to 5.4 GHz and brings a good 36 MB L3 cache.
Rated at 55W, it's going to be much more power efficient than regular desktop CPU variants, but will be adequately powerful for CPU-intensive workloads. The MoDT motherboard features a Micro-ATX form-factor and brings a single PCIe x16 slot for the graphics card, supporting up to PCIe 4.0 gen interface. Along with the GPU slot, a single PCIe 3.0 x1 slot is available for expansion cards, and for memory, there are two regular DDR5 DIMMs that support up to 96 GB of memory.
The memory support is up to 6400 MT/s through Intel XMP and supports dual-channel configuration. For storage, users will find dual M.2 ports for fast NVMe SSDs, both featureing the Gen 4.0 interface. Apart from M.2 slots, there are 6x SATA ports for SATA drives such as 3.5" hard drives and 2.5" SATA SSDs. Connectivity is quite basic, featuring a couple of USB Type-A ports, including dual USB 2.0 ports, and 4x USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports for peripheral connectivity. Unfortunately, there is no USB Type-C port.
A WiFi 6 and a 1G LAN is available at the rear I/O for internet connectivity and there are three audio jacks beside them. Colorful hasn't released details regarding its price and availability, but this MoDT might be useful for compact PC builds at a time when versatility is needed in the hardware market.
