The motherboard maker is introducing its proprietary memory optimization features for superior performance.
Colorful Debuts Memory Tuning Mode, Claiming 4% Higher Average FPS in eSports Titles and Up To 10% Improvement in AIDA64 Benchmarks
Major motherboard vendors have released their new memory and CPU optimization features for their motherboards. Colorful isn't lagging either and introduced a new memory optimization feature called Memory Tuning Mode. This specifically targets memory optimizations to improve performance in gaming and non-gaming workloads.
As per IT Home, Colorful's Memory Tuning Mode is reserved for the Intel 800 series motherboards that are used by the Arrow Lake processors. The feature can be enabled in a single click in the BIOS and offers various options for optimizations. These presets help deliver superior performance in select workloads, as shared by the company.
Currently, the mode has debuted on the Battle-AX B860M-Plus S WiFi7 V20 motherboard, but will roll out on other models as well. The Memory Tuning Mode reportedly can deliver 10% improvement in memory-focused workloads such as AIDA64 benchmarks. As per the shared slide, the feature is able to deliver higher read, write, and copy bandwidth as well as lower latency.
In gaming, a similar boost is seen as per Colorful's in-house testing. When tested on a platform with Core Ultra 7 270K Plus processor paired with Colorful iGame Shadow DDR5-8000 CL40 24 GB x2 RAM kit, the Memory Tuning Mode was able to deliver 3-4% improvement in average FPS in various eSports titles. In Counter-Strike 2, the feature delivered an additional 21 FPS or 3.4% improvement, and in Valorant, the boost was up to 40 FPS, which is about 4.2% compared to performance without the Memory Tuning Mode.
As per Colorful, users should also notice better 1% lows in games, making the gameplay pretty smooth. As far as compatibility is concerned, the motherboard maker is set to release the Memory Tuning Mode on the following motherboards:
