The Farm 51 has been working on Chernobylite 2 for over three years, and today, one of the most significant milestones for the team has been achieved. The Kickstarter campaign for this game has reached more than 200% of the initial funding goal. The team exceeded its campaign target with six stretch goals, which has allowed the team to secure additional expansion of the project beyond the original plans that were set in place. This includes extra locations to explore for both single-player and co-op missions, as well as a customizable interface. The Farm 51 has created an infographic that goes into detail about their Kickstarter, as well as the team's dedication to creating this new game.
The developers have announced that the Kickstarter campaign will continue to be live thanks to the option of Late Pledges, where those who pledge can still support the team and get some of the rewards that are available.
One of the most exciting parts of the team's news is that Early Access is just around the corner for Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone. The Farm 51 has confirmed today that Early Access on Steam will begin on March 6, where approximately one-third of the final game's content will be available for players to explore, as well as provide the team with valuable feedback while they continue their efforts in the development process.
For those just hearing about this game, Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone is a post-apocalyptic action RPG that combines free exploration in a realistic open world with challenging combat, base management, non-linear storytelling, and more.
Character creation is a huge main feature of this game, as you get to develop your hero exactly how you want them. Whether it's skillful combat, being a fantastic conversationalist, or someone who can charm their way out of sticky situations, it's entirely up to you.
You can also choose how you handle the combat in Chernobylite 2. Whether you decide to utilize the complex melee combat system or use a variety of firearms to take out your enemies, the choice is completely up to you.
Base building will also be a huge part of this game, where you can develop your base, create valuable items, and upgrade your weapons. Here, you can assign your people to tasks where they will continue to take care of your equipment and supplies while you are away.
You can play the game your way, whether it's playing solo, or experiencing and engaging in online co-op missions, the choice is yours.
Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone will be in Early Access on PC on March 6, with it soon to follow on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. For more information, check out Alessio's Q&A with the team.
