Call of Duty Leaker Gets Shut Down by Activision

Renowned Call of Duty leaker The Ghost of Hope has revealed on X that Activision has legally forced them to stop leaking information about the franchise, likely through a C&D (Cease and Desist) letter.

Activision has legally demanded that I stop leaking and disseminating confidential information related to Call of Duty/Activision and I am complying with their demands. Still gonna stick around and chat about Official Call of Duty info and anything not related to leaks/confidential information. Cheers for these past few years.

Even the official Call of Duty X account commented on the news. When a COD creator mused that The Ghost of Hope might have been right about everything if the studio was shutting them down, the official account replied:

Nah. Even when leaks are wrong, they still hurt the people building the game and mess with player expectations.

This is the same stance CAPCOM has taken on Resident Evil Requiem leaks by Dusk Golem: leaks, whether right or wrong, create frustration for developers to deal with. However, the Japanese company never forced the leaker into submission; in fact, Dusk Golem just dropped an updated roadmap of Resident Evil game releases.
