Biwin, a supplier of SSDs, DRAM, and memory cards, has just unveiled the CL100 Mini SSD, a coin-sized Solid-State Drive that punches well above its weight.
The Biwin CL100 Mini SSD: Read speeds of up to 3700 MB/s, LGA packaging technology, and IP68 dust and water resistance
Biwin's CL100 Mini SSD was previously featured only within devices such as the GPD Win 5 and OneXPlayer Super X. Now, however, Biwin has launch the SSD as a standalone consumer product.
The Biwin CL100 Mini SSD features high-tech specs, including:
PCIe 4×2 interface and NVMe 1.4 protocol
- Delivers impressive read speeds of up to 3700 MB/s and write speeds of up to 3400 MB/s.
- These speeds are substantially higher than those of microSD Express cards, which top out at ~985MB/s.
- Ideal for tasks like AI model training, 4K video editing, or running demanding applications.
LGA packaging technology
- The Biwin CL100 uses advanced LGA packaging technology, which integrates the controller and flash memory modules into an ultra-compact form factor.
- Dimensions of 15.0 mm × 17.0 mm × 1.4 mm.
- Its size is equivalent to a small coin or a microSD card.
Other advanced technologies
- Dynamic SLC cache
- Wear leveling
- TRIM command
- Garbage collection
- Intelligent thermal throttling
- Intelligent low-power management
The Biwin Mini SSD Reader RD510
- The RD510 is a USB4, 40Gbps card reader, replete with an internal fan, that can transform the CL100 Mini SSD into an external NVMe drive.
- Ideal for laptops, tablets, handheld consoles, smartphones, and cameras that need a removable storage option.
The Biwin CL100 Mini SSD comes with an IP68 dust and water resistance, as well as a 3m drop resistance. It currently retails in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage configurations, priced at 599 ($85), 1,099 ($156), and 2,199 ($311) Yuan, respectively.
