Batman Arkham series developer Rocksteady Studios is working on a new game starring the Dark Knight, according to rumors circulating online.

Earlier today, XboxEra's Shpeshal Nick said on X that he had heard that Rocksteady Studios was working specifically on a new Batman game, not a remaster or remake of previous entries in the series. Apparently, Sony is also trying to money-hat the game, so it may end up being a PlayStation console exclusive.

Given how Rocksteady Studios' latest project, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, failed by all metrics, it makes sense for the studio to go back to the character that propelled the studio among the most respected development studios ever. Still, without an official confirmation, which may not be coming for some time, we have to take this reveal with a huge grain of salt.

The latest entry in Rocksteady Studios' popular series is Batman Arkham Knight, which introduced a much bigger map than its predecessor, and the Batmobile, which ended up being one of the game's most important features. Last year, the game was ported to Nintendo Switch with some baffling results, as the game ran at a staggering 0 frames per second in certain scenarios at launch. The game is also well-remembered by the PC community due to its horrible port, which required plenty of time and work to get fixed.
