Chinese manufacturers have introduced a new entry-level AMD AM5 motherboard based on the B850 & B650 chipsets, priced well below $100.
Finally Some Sub-$100 US AMD AM5 Motherboards With Solid Capabilities & 8000 MT/s Support, These Chinese B850/B650E Designs Come In Black/White Colors & Great Value
As major motherboard vendors roll out their refreshed AMD AM5 products featuring much better VRM, IO, and cooling capabilities, entry-level motherboards are trying to squeeze in as many features within a cost-effective option.
JGINYUE is one such manufacturer that has introduced two brand-new motherboards as part of its Aurora lineup. These include the B850M Aurora-B and the B650EM Aurora. The motherboards are based on the B850 and B650E chipsets, respectively. Both motherboards are very similar in terms of specs, with one of the main differentiating factors being the color. The B850 model is colored black, while the B650E model is colored white.
As for the specs, the B850M Aurora-B and the B650EM Aurora feature a mATX form factor, an 8+2+1 phase DrMOS VRM, the AM5 socket, which is powered through the single 8-pin EPS connector, & has support listed for Ryzen 9000, 8000, 7000 CPUs. Both motherboards feature two DDR5 DIMM slots that support frequencies of up to 8000 MT/s (OC) and up to 96 GB capacities.
Expansion slots include two PCIe x16 (5.0 / 4.0) and triple M.2 slots (1x 5.0x4 / 2x 4.0x4). The primary M.2 slot features a pre-installed heatsink, and the PCH, plus the VRM, have a nice "AURORA" heatsink over them. Other features include 2.5GbE LAN, a USB Type-C interface, and support for a WIFI adapter with two antennas. There are also four ARGB headers, along with DEBUG LEDs.
The most enticing part about these two motherboards is their pricing. The B850 model is priced at 496 RMB while the B650E model is priced at 485 RMB. These convert to just $70 US, which is amazing since the cheapest B850 and B650E motherboards here in the US are still priced at or above $100 US. The $30 US savings can really help budget-constrained PC builders. Unfortunately, such cheap options are not available globally, but if the manufacturer decides to open up sales in other regions, then these will be some really attractive options.
