ATI Catalyst 10.3a Preview drivers Boost gaming performance

As promised last month, ATI has released a preview (read: beta) version of this month's Catalyst driver suite which adds a couple of features to the Radeon 5000 lineup as well as increase game performance for Radeon 4000 and Radeon 5000 series of graphic cards. The actual enhancements vary by title, but can go up to an increase of about 30% in a few titles.

These new drivers couldn't come any sooner as NVIDIA is just about to roll out its Fermi based GeForce 400 lineup next week. That's one way of putting strain of the competition without making any changes on the hardware. The drivers are currently in beta stage though I haven't run into any problems with them on my PC yet. Head on over to AMD if you want to try the drivers for yourself. Here's the list of titles that currently benefit from the optimizations in the drivers.
