ASUS is planning to limit the production of its RTX 5070 Ti GPUs and prioritize the higher-end RTX 5080 models in its place.
ASUS Prioritizes Higher-End RTX 5080 GPUs By Limiting Other 16 GB Models, Such As The RTX 5070 Ti
While NVIDIA has confirmed that production across all RTX 50 GPUs remains stable, AIBs are doing things differently on their end.
As per industry sources quoted by Channel Gate, it looks like ASUS is making some significant changes to its GPU allocation, where it will prioritize higher-end 16 GB graphics cards while limiting the supply of RTX 5070 Ti models.
The report suggests that in Q2 2026, ASUS has changed the strategy of its high-end graphics cards after analyzing the current market trajectory and the ongoing memory shortages and supply chain constraints. With these new changes, two models will be affected: the RTX 5070 Ti and the RTX 5080. The full report of Channel Gate is provided below:
Starting in Q2, ASUS is adjusting its sales strategy for its high-end graphics card series. Due to changes in the upstream GPU supply landscape, the supply of certain models may tighten. It is recommended that end-users and distributors nationwide adjust their sales focus accordingly.
- ASUS will continue to reduce the supply of the RTX 5070 Ti series. The factory will primarily focus on selling a few mainstream models, while related production capacity will gradually shift to the RTX 5080 series.
- The factory advises that the RTX 5080 series sales must maintain their current market share. Online sales and high-end DIY PC sales should be actively pursued, with the factory providing special sales support for this model. The factory also notes that an RTX 5080 Master EVO version may be released later; industry customers are advised to seize this opportunity and actively close orders.

It is mentioned that ASUS will continue to reduce the supply of its existing GeForce RTX 5070 Ti models, only focusing on a few mainstream models such as the Dual and PRIME series. The higher-end ROG and STRIX series will be limited and eventually taken off the production lines.
The additional supply will instead be dedicated to the higher-end RTX 5080 graphics card, which shows a similar strategy to the one we heard a few months back, where NVIDIA and its AIBs were focusing on the higher-end GPUs featuring the same VRAM. Since both RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 offer 16 GB VRAM, the RTX 5080 gets priority.
We will also likely see an intense marketing push by ASUS for its GeForce RTX 5080 series graphics cards, including the rollout of new models such as the RTX 5080 Master EVO, which is expected soon. NVIDIA has already clarified that production of its entire GeForce RTX 50 GPUs remains stable & the company is going the extra mile to make sure that minimal pressure of rising memory prices is passed over to end-users.
Considering that ASUS is changing its strategy, we can also expect other AIB partners to follow a similar trajectory down the road.
