The ASUS ROG Matrix graphics card is displayed in its packaging, featuring a triple-fan design and 'ROG 30th Anniversary' branding.

Not just the regular one, but we also have the Chinese variant with the downgraded memory configuration.

ASUS's Tony Shows 30th Anniversary ROG Matrix RTX 5090 D V2 GPU for the Chinese Market

Looks like ASUS has also prepared the Chinese variant of the ROG Matrix RTX 5090 limited edition, which only has a thousand units for sale worldwide. Since the RTX 5090 is banned from mainland China, ASUS prepared its Chinese-specific variant that looks identical but has some downgraded specifications, such as the VRAM. In a YouTube video, ASUS's General Manager Tony shows off the ROG Matrix RTX 5090 D V2 and some earlier Matrix editions.

Similar to the regular edition, the Matrix RTX 5090 D V2 is also rated at 800W, featuring both the 16-pin power connector and the ASUS HPWR connector, which is compatible with ASUS BTF motherboards. The Matrix RTX 5090 D V2 essentially brings identical specs to the non-D V2 version, but has a 384-bit memory bus and 24 GB GDDR7 memory. So, it's a bit slower, especially in workloads that require high VRAM capacity.

After turning on the system with both power connectors connected, we see the power consumption nearly touching 800W in FurMark at 100% GPU load. The GPU ran at nearly 3050 MHz at full load, which is significantly higher than the boost clock on the reference design. One could see the GPU surpassing 70°C quickly in minutes, and therefore, Tony moves to the next test, 3DMark. At full load, the GPU achieved a staggering 26,637 points in Time Spy Extreme. With some overclocking, the GPU could achieve an incredible 28,638 points with an outstanding frequency of 3255 MHz.

However, the GPU temperature was quite decent compared to the FurMark test, and remained at nearly 60°C. Since the GPU has some special liquid nitrogen settings, Tony wants to try this next time. That said, we don't know how many units of the Matrix RTX 5090 D V2 ASUS will produce, but there aren't going to be many. Price-wise, you can expect at least $4000 for this GPU or even more, considering the GPUs are now getting more expensive.
